On Trend: Reclaimed Wood

If you've ever turned on HGTV's Fixer Upper or Property Brothers, then you know the use of reclaimed wood in interior design is currently all the rage.

From kitchen islands to headboards, the use of reclaimed wood is a trend we don't see going away anytime soon - especially here in Southwest Colorado.

Reclaimed wood is a beautiful addition to any design scheme because it's so wonderfully versatile. Want a cool accent wall? Use reclaimed wood. Looking for something to go with any paint color? Use reclaimed wood. Need something that will stand out? Use reclaimed wood!

It's also an excellent way to minimize your ecological footprint as the materials are re-purposed. Also, given it's age, most reclaimed wood pieces tend to be more durable and sturdy as the  wood has had more time to mature.

Utilizing reclaimed wood to revamp a bedroom can add both rustic and contemporary elements to your home's interior design theme.

Traditionally, raw and unfinished wood furniture has always been associated with more rustic decor like the above bed set that evokes a Southwestern feel. But, more recently, reclaimed barn wood and unfinished pieces are now being used to convey a more contemporary approach to design.

Clean lines and an ash grey finish give the above bedroom collection a very modern feel. Accented in cream and slate blue, this Caminito bedroom set gives a cohesive look that is both cozy and comfortable.

Moving from the bedroom to the dining room, reclaimed wood once again becomes the star of the show. Long dining room tables help to showcase reclaimed woods natural beauty and unique imperfections.

The Aurora Dining Table (left) and Aurora Gathering Table (right) act as a great example of how stunning reclaimed wood can look when minimally treated.

With a simple cross bar leg design, the top slab is the real focal point on these tables, showcasing the long planks and contoured grain of the natural wood.

Lastly, the living is a great place to incorporate reclaimed wood. From coffee tables and sideboards to ottomans and chairs, reclaimed wood is the perfect accent to any color scheme and any design feel.

From a mountain cabin to a contemporary modern loft, the reclaimed wood furniture pieces found at Artesanos Design Collection can compliment almost any home's design style.

Reclaimed wood's popularity is only gaining more ground as it find it's way into more living room, dining rooms and bedrooms, so now it the time to capitalize on this growing trend in home decor.
